Fairfax Ice Arena -
  3799 Pickett Rd
Fairfax, VA 22031
(703) 323-1131

This one-rink facility is a bit odd when you first see it, but has an old time hockey feel to it. The rink is a tad bit smaller than what you may be used to and the stands are all wood with some netting in front of your fans' protection. It's quite cold inside the rink area, which is good for the hockey, but a bit nippy for the fans. Make sure you get them to dress warmly. This rink provides year round in-house leagues for all levels of play and pick up hockey is usually scheduled on Saturday nights starting at 12:45am for all you night owls. There is a pro shop available that stocks a wide variety of equipment.

This partial outdoor rink has recently been renovated and reopened for ice hockey after a year hiatus. This seasonal ice hockey rink includes an averaged sized lobby area with a snack bar and vending machines. There are plenty of bleacher seats available for fans to watch, but since it's a partial outdoor rink, make sure to be prepared for the elements. In the off-season, this rink is used for roller hockey. The surrounding area of this rink is quite enchanting; with many bike and walking trails weaving their way around the town of Wheaton. As with Wheaton Indoor rink, it's not a good idea to partake in after game celebrations (aka - drinking large amounts of alcohol) in the parking lot area since the park police are always creeping around. Doh!
